Master Jason Tan facilitates Nanyang Link

We will be celebrating a great event at the Singapore beginning of the year, through assembling celebrated artists from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore. This exhibition event will be officially opened by Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Culture Community & Youth, and Ministry of Finance on 2016 January 31st, at 2:30PM.

This exhibition is an essential cultural exchange between China and the ASEAN countries. There will be 2 series of art works on display –Nanyang Link, and Huang-He Sprint contributed by the ASEAN artists together with China’s prominent artists. The landscape paintings of Huang-He Sprint were drawn at the China Sanmenxia Yellow River site in March 2015. The Huang-He Sprint was created by painters Leong Chun Hong Stephen and Dr. Foo Yong Kang from Singapore, five Malaysian oil painters, and Mr. Fan Di Ann, President of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, led five painters from China.

Works of Singaporean artists Leong Chun Hong, Stephen, the President of the Federation of Art Societies (Singapore), and other local veteran oil painters Koeh Sia Yong, Fan Shao Hua, Lim Poh Teck, Ler Hock Chuan will also be expected to draw attention at the exhibition.

We have also invited two of the most renowned local artists, Mr. Lim Tze Peng, and Dr. Ho Kah Leong to take part in this multinational painting exhibition. Dr. Ho Kah Leong is the President of Singapore Arts Federation, Ministry of Information and the Arts and former Senior Parliamentary Secretary. Mr. Lim is the 2003 Cultural Medallion Award winner.

The Chief Adviser of the Preparatory Committee, Master Janson Tan, heartily hopes that the cultural impact of combining the two distinctive regional paintings characteristics will not only promote mutual understanding, but also strengthen the network of painters worldwide. This is a fantastic opportunity for the world to appreciate the customs of the China Yellow River Basin and the ASEAN countries (Nanyang). It is worth understanding how they have explored and developed the art of oriental paintings that we see in today’s achievements.
